West Hill Primary Academy is looking for a Key Stage 2 teacher to join a vibrant, hard-working, excellent team of teachers.
West Hill Primary Academy works closely with the other schools in The Galaxy Trust (Oakfield Primary Academy and Temple Hill Primary Academy) and all are situated within Dartford. With nearly 2000 pupils across the three schools there are a great number of opportunities for developing the best provision within the area.
Every teacher is entitled to the best possible CPD. No teacher is ever left to plan alone. Reducing teacher workload and improving teacher well-being is a priority. Governance arrangements fully support the development of teachers, enabling them to concentrate on teaching and learning. A high priority is placed on developing the deeper learning of basic skills, whilst at the same time developing a broad and balanced curriculum of foundation subjects. There are excellent opportunities for future career development across our schools.
What can you expect when joining West Hill Primary Academy?
What we expect from teachers in our schools:
The Galaxy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and views it with paramount importance. It engages with children and staff in policy and practice developments, and proactively encourages feedback. The school requires employees to obtain a Criminal Records Disclosure via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), including checks against the barred list. Two references are also required prior to commencement of employment.
We are a successful, oversubscribed school in residential Dartford and have a long standing record of success in providing opportunities for boys and girls of all abilities to develop their interests, talents and skills in a supportive and inclusive school community.
Ofsted described us as a school which ‘provides a wealth of opportunities to promote pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. These values underpin the curriculum and are at the core of the school’s ethos.’ (March 2013) We are all extremely proud of our school.
With our Head of School we are looking to continue to develop our team and our school to create an even greater learning environment for all of our children through innovative teaching and learning.
