Advert

Oakfield Primary Academy is looking for a teacher to join a vibrant, hard-working, excellent team of teachers.

Every teacher is entitled to the best possible CPD. No teacher is ever left to plan alone.  Reducing teacher workload and improving teacher well-being is a priority.  Governance arrangements fully support the development of teachers, enabling them to concentrate on teaching and learning.  A high priority is placed on developing the deeper learning of basic skills, whilst at the same time developing a broad and balanced curriculum of foundation subjects.  There are excellent opportunities for future career development across our schools.

We have recently been judged with a solid good in Ofsted; this is the type of school you could be joining:

  • A strong sense of community fills this inclusive school
  • Staff have high expectations of the pupils and expect them to work hard
  • Adults are strong role models
  • Staff are proud to work here and pupils love to learn here
  • Leaders and staff have worked incredibly hard to improve the school since its last inspection
  • ‘There is a real team feeling – we are Team Purple.’
  • Teachers know their pupils well
  • Pupils feel that they will leave school remembering motivational teachers and visitors, that diversity is celebrated, and that they have been treated as individuals: ‘It’s OK to be me!’

What we expect from teachers in our schools:

  • The skill to keep the child at the centre of everything they do.
  • An ability to see the best in every child.
  • Hard-working, loyal, professional teachers that actually want to teach!
  • To work as a team and be proud of collective as well as individual achievements.
  • A high standard of English and maths knowledge.
  • A passion for another area of the curriculum.

Oakfield Primary Academy works closely with the other schools in The Galaxy Trust (Fleetdown Primary Academy, Temple Hill Primary Academy and West Hill Primary Academy) and all are situated within Dartford. With approx 2800 pupils across the four schools there are a great number of opportunities for developing the best provision within the area.

The Galaxy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020 and therefore is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure.

Early applications are encouraged and The Galaxy Trust reserves the right to close the vacancy if a suitable candidate is found.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
